Juice Fast For A Week…30 Day Summer Body Program!!!

I have been doing the 30 Day Summer Body Workout for two weeks now and feel I should share the liquid fast I am about to supplement the workout with. If you want to know more about the workout, day 1 starts here. Fasting has many benefits but the one I see as being the most beneficial is the discipline it requires of you. You may be like me and be in a habit of eating what you want when you want. Although I am not necessarily trying to loose a bunch of weight, I would like to see the muscle tone I am working for. Seeing this muscle tone would require loosing some of the fat and I thought that this would be the best way for me. Even though the title says fasting for a week that is not totally true because we gradually reintroduce food by the end of the week. You should consult your physician before starting any fast just to be safe. I see a lot of juices and smoothie recipes that I want to try and this week will be the best time to try them…

The schedule…

Monday and Tuesday

Water Fast – Day & Night

Wednesday and Thursday

30 Day Summer Body Still In Progress…Sunday – REST DAY!!!

Hey guys I’m so proud of you for making it through this week. 1 week down, 3 to go. But for today it is a rest day!!! If you feel that a rest day is not needed you can do a double day of Fat Burning Exercises found here. If you need to start from Day 1, go here. I want to share some of what I have been eating for this week and give you some ideas that spark your healthy eating lifestyle. I am a vegetarian and use meat substitute products but these recipes can be made with meat. If you are interested in going vegetarian, pescatarian (no meat, just fish) , or vegan, I have some recipes you might want to try here, here, and here.

Spicy omelet with kale (that I buy in bulk at Costco and freeze), tomato, onion, and habanero pepper…

Don’t forget…plenty of water.

New Recipe Alert!!!…

I haven’t shared a new recipe with you guys in a while so I want to share my craziest creation yet. I don’t usually buy Ramen noodle soup because of the sodium content but I enjoy the noodles, so I try to think of creative ways to reinvent them. This one is literally anything I could find in the fridge. It was fun to integrate ingredients that I don’t usually cook together, into a brand new meal.

And the ingredients are…

1 Package of Ramen noodles (minus the seasoning pack)

1/4 sliced green pepper

1/4 sliced red pepper

1 ounce sliced yellow onion

1 bag of baby spinach

1 cup of tri-color coleslaw in a bag

Frank’s RedHot Honey Garlic hot sauce (can be substituted with another sauce of your liking) the honey with the garlic gave it a Asian feel.

1/3 Jamaican hot pepper (if you like it spicy like me)

20160922_202619 20160922_202509 20160922_202456

Sauté onion and peppers in frying pan with olive oil and seasoning…then add spinach…then cabbage…

20160922_202805 20160922_202958

Boil soup until tender…

Drain soup and add honey garlic sauce…

Then stir in veggies and enjoy…

It really was surprisingly good and easy to prepare. I would love if you tried it for yourself.

New Recipe Alert!!

I’ve been wanting to make this vegetable lasagna for a while now and finally got the chance to do so. I wanted it full of veggies and although I had not planned to put the meat substitute in it at first, I changed my mind and decided to make it hearty. I was thinking about this all throughout my food shopping trip that you can see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxYXvhWJvGM.

The ingredients:

Next I chopped up some carrots and sautéed that with the meat substitute,

Then I added a half a bag of frozen mixed vegetables,

hjfj 003 hjfj 007

Now it’s time to layer it in a pan. I put the noodles, then the meat sauce, then the mozzarella cheese until you run out of ingredients or space. I decided to use my non-stick frying pan but you can use a glass or tin pan. I use it for almost everything, it’s my absolute favorite. I got it on QVC about 12 years ago and wish I remembered the name of the brand because I would buy some more pieces.

Put a covering on it, I used aluminum foil, and put in the oven for about 350 degrees for about 30-45 minutes.

And enjoy…

Next time I want to try it with different veggies like zucchini and squash. Try it out and let me know if you liked it. Love Always…

New Recipe Alert #4!!!

I have to say I don’t usually have so many new recipe alerts so close together, but I am enjoying myself. I have to wonder if you are the inspiration. Since starting this blog the creativity to try new recipes have increased. The recipe I am about to share got rave reviews from the boys. They came back for thirds. I hope the same for you if you decide to try it out.

I even have a new dessert alert! This is not your ordinary banana pudding as it has a bottom layer of Oreo cookies. The boys loved it.  Needless to say it did not last long in the fridge. I have to say I liked it too.

New Recipe Alert 3!!!

027

Y’all know I Love a new recipe, so here we go. I have decided to add more pics of the ingredients to help anyone who would like to try it out. To be honest, sometimes the new recipes don’t make it to the old recipe pile but this one was  actually really good. I think I will change the choice of sauce though. Try it out and let me know how you liked it and what you would change.

Oops! I didn’t show you what that green stuff is, that would be a baby spinach and kale mix that I actually use for juicing, and yes I threw it right in the pot with the pasta. Hey it worked. The Market Pantry brand pasta you see is from Target and their store brand is just as good and the reduction in price helps offset the cost of the “meat”.

New Recipe Alert 2!!

This is one of my favorite sandwiches to make now. It is the Morning Star Buffalo “chicken” patty with pepper jack cheese and spicy homemade coleslaw. I get the bag coleslaw and coleslaw sauce from Hidden Valley and I add Jamaican peppers. Sorry I didn’t post pics of that, next time. I’m a spicy kind of girl, so you will see that I use it in quite a few meals. Enjoy and Love Always…

No meat please…

Okay guys so I told you I was going to show you the alternative to meat products I buy now that I have made the decision to exclude meat from my meals. I find the Morning Star products are really good to try if you are just starting your vegetarian journey. There is an Italian sausage that is not pictured here because it is hard to find but it is really good and my kids love it. And actually when first introducing the “chicken” patties to the boys they didn’t even know it wasn’t meat. I found all of these products at Target but they are being carried more and more places. There is a Wholefoods Market trip in the near future that I will share with you guys. I might even vlog it. I’m anticipating an awesome selection there. I will be posting some of the meals that I used these products in.

I also wanted to show you the types of cereal I buy now too, while we are in the kitchen, because we are definitely cereal lovers over here. I would buy about, I want to say 15 boxes but it’s probably more like 20 on a good day. That was probably the hardest thing to change about my eating habits but once I decided to make healthier eating decisions, that absolutely had to change. I don’t drink cows milk anymore either so I switched to almond milk and sometimes I will get soy milk, but I like almond milk better. Target has a really good store brand of almond milk and at a good price too because it can get pricey. Although it is not good for making the instant pudding mix I use for making banana pudding, so that is where I will buy Lactaid.

I saved the best for last because this honey graham cereal is my FAVORITE. It taste better than Golden Grahams if you ask me.
